Robotics Project

Welcome to the 4-H Robotics project! Exploring 4-H Robotics is an ideal way to introduce science, math, engineering, and technology while teaching life skills.

At this time, we are actively searching for volunteer Robotics project leaders who can provide instruction to beginners and more experienced youth. Until we have project leaders in place to lead project meetings, we are offering Open Labs the third Saturday of the month from 9am to 10:30am at the Washington County Public Agency Center (PAC) 333 E. Washington St., West Bend (enter at south entrance off Indiana Ave), Room 3224.

Robotics Open Lab schedule:

  • 2/17/24
  • New date: 3/9/24
  • 4/20/24

Future dates to be determined as the search for a Robotics Project Leader develops.

The Robotics Open Labs will provide youth the opportunity to experiment with Legos Mindstorm NXT and Lego EV3 kits. These kits include project guides with photo illustrations & written instructions for builds such as ‘5 Minute Bot’. Open Lab time will allow youth to work and play in small groups, learning side-by-side as they collaborate to find solutions and overcome obstacles. Guidance will be given on team building, positive communication, and creative problem-solving.

4-H Educator Ron Jakubisin will be overseeing the Open Labs, and will need several parents to help supervise each Lab.

Do you know anyone who may be interested in leading the Robotics project? Encourage them to speak with Ron to find out more about this fun volunteer opportunity!

NOTE: Open Labs’ does NOT include formal classroom instruction nor competition preparation.
