Meetings
Sundays, 3-5pm, starting in January, with dates to be determined by December. Orientation will be a mandatory meeting. Behavioral expectations and project offering will be discussed. All youth are highly encouraged to complete a project for Fair. Meetings will include work on Fair entries and mock judging.
Project will feature one initial workshop in early January with instruction and basics of Robotics, open to all but required for 1st and 2nd year project members unless otherwise approved by project leader. Following the workshop, a series of ‘open labs’ will allow youth to work in groups, learning side by side and finding solutions when they run into obstacles. Guidance will be given on team building, problem solving, and creative thinking (note: formal instruction is not part of the open lab experience). Open labs will be supervised by the project leader and/or other 4-H adult volunteers. The number of open labs offered will depend on volunteer support.
Robotics 1 is a required workshop for first and second year members. Robotics 2 members will work on self-directed teams to learn and explore Lego Mindstorms robotics. Members should have a very strong interest and skill set creativity, self-direction, and problem solving. Additional Youth Leaders welcome and encouraged.
