A reminder that ALL 4-H members NEED to enroll/re-enroll each year in 4HOnline. Current enrollments DO NOT automatically rollover. Youth members should enroll/re-enroll by October 1 because club and project leaders begin pulling 4-H rosters in October. Returning families can log in to their family’s account here: 4HOnline. New families can create an account here: 4HOnline.
A few reminders to share with you regarding enrollment/re-enrollment:
- Instructions can be found in the 4-H Family Enrollment Guide. Please USE the 4-H Family Enrollment Guide for step-by-step instructions!
- The family phone number & email address in 4HOnline must belong to an adult.
- If you are a returning 4-H family, please DO NOT create a new account; use current account login name and password to login to your existing 4HOnline account. If you can’t remember your password, you can request a password reset on the login screen.
- Ensure your family contact information is accurate – including email, phone, and mailing address. If not, please update your 4HOnline account.
- Edit project list as needed. Need help selecting a project? See Explore 4-H Projects with Washington County 4-H (pdf).
- Ensure consents are e-signed.
- Use ‘Next’ button at the bottom of each page to continue through registration, and ‘Submit’ button when registration is complete/accurate.
- Please note that many announcements sent via 4HOnline are sent to the family email address. Be sure to regularly check your family email address for any announcements.
ADULT VOLUNTEERS (Mandated Training & Background Check)
- New for 2025: All 4-H volunteers need to enroll/re-enroll by November 1, 2025.
Good news! – Only one training focused on Youth Protection law is required for most returning & new volunteers. (Overnight chaperones and Health Coordinators for events will continue to need additional training for those particular volunteer positions.) Once your training is completed and ‘submit’ is clicked, your 4-HOnline account will immediately update acknowledging your completed training. - New for 2025: Deadline for Background checks is December 1, 2025. Background checks are required for all adult volunteers every two years. Wisconsin 4-H tracks this in your 4HOnline enrollment, and notifies HireRight, the company that facilitates background check procedures, to initiate your background check when due. HireRight will send you an email to begin the background check process. Be sure to watch your inbox, as well as your Junk/Spam folder for the HireRight email; the link it contains will expire in two weeks. IMPORTANT: A submitted application/enrollment form does not mean that an individual is an approved volunteer.
- The 4-H Educator will monitor enrollments and deadlines. Adults who are not approved 4-H volunteers cannot be in custodial care of youth.
- When re-enrolling in 4HOnline, all adult leaders should select a club; see second bullet point if you do not have a designated club.
- If you are a Project Leader for a specific club, you will need to select a ‘Club Volunteer Type’ AND a ‘Project Volunteer Type’.
- If you are a countywide leader without club affiliation, please select “Adult Volunteers – no designated club” as your club.
- 4HOnline instructions can be found in the 4-H Family Enrollment Guide. Please USE the 4-H Family Enrollment Guide for step-by-step instructions!
