Extension Washington County welcomes its newest addition to the team: 4-H educator Kelly Dione. Kelly begins her role on January 6, 2025, and will work alongside current 4-H educator Ron Jakubisin to broaden 4-H membership opportunities through enhancing existing 4-H clubs and establishing new ones.
“We are excited for Kelly to step into this role and serve our Washington County 4-H program,” said Cindy Sarkady, Area Extension Director. “She brings with her over 15 years of experience in building partnerships and developing programs that not only educate youth but also build community. Adding Kelly’s expertise to our team will greatly expand Extension’s outreach to youth in Washington County.”
Kelly will also focus on promoting post-secondary pathways for youth in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) related projects. “I look forward to working with the local communities and school districts to include youth who will benefit most from 4-H. We are thrilled to offer Extension’s researched-based educational programs to Washington County youth to build their confidence, sustain their interest, and develop a sense of citizenship. Our 4-H STEM projects emphasize participation in science along with acquiring content knowledge, which helps engage youth in STEM disciplines and widens their perspective of possible STEM careers.”
Kelly can be contacted by email at kelly.dione@wisc.edu or by calling the Extension Washington County office at 262-335-4477.
