Washington County 4‑H is launching an exciting new STEM project designed to inspire curiosity and introduce young people to the world of science, technology, engineering, and math. This countywide effort gives youth the chance to explore STEM concepts through hands-on activities that encourage creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork.
The goal of the project is to help youth discover their personal “sparks”—interests that motivate and excite them—while also building confidence and real‑world skills. Participants will engage in a variety of interactive learning experiences that introduce engineering, circuitry, coding, and physical science in ways that are both fun and accessible. By experimenting, building, testing, and creating, youth gain a deeper understanding of how STEM connects to everyday life and future career pathways.
The project meets monthly at Moraine Park Technical College and is open to all Washington County youth enrolled in 4‑H. Families can sign up by selecting “Mechanical Sciences: STEM” in 4HOnline. Anyone with questions is encouraged to contact Kelly Dione at 262‑335‑4799.
Youth‑serving organizations interested in bringing 4‑H STEM educational activities to their site are invited to reach out to Kelly Dione to explore partnership opportunities.
This new STEM initiative reflects 4‑H’s ongoing commitment to empowering young people with opportunities that spark imagination, build lifelong skills, and strengthen our community.
