Washington County 4-H Launches Engaging STEM Summer Day Camps for Local Youth

Washington County 4-H sparked curiosity and creativity this summer with a new series of STEM-focused day camps, offering local youth hands-on opportunities to explore science, technology, engineering, and math in a fun, engaging environment.

The 2025 4-H Summer Day Camps welcomed both current 4-H members and youth of Washington County new to the program, creating a welcoming space for learning and discovery. Campers in grades 3–8 had the option to attend STEM Camp or Build It! Camp, each featuring three days packed with hands-on activities.

  • rocketry
  • robotics
  • engineering challenges
  • forensic science
  • geocaching
  • circuitry
  • renewable energy projects using solar and wind power.

While exploring these exciting STEM concepts, youth also built valuable life skills such as teamwork, consensus-building, critical thinking, problem-solving, and leadership—all core principles of the 4-H program.

For younger youth in grades K–2, 4-H offered a one-day Cloverbud Camp, which introduced campers to creative arts and science through nature-based projects, cooking activities, and cooperative games designed to inspire imagination and collaboration.

Washington County 4-H continues to provide youth with educational experiences that blend fun, hands-on learning with personal growth. To learn more about upcoming programs, visit https://washington.extension.wisc.edu/ or contact Washington County 4-H Educator, Kelly Dione at Kelly.Dione@wisc.edu.
