Enrollment in Washington County 4-H opens Wednesday, September 2 in 4-HOnline for the 2026-27 4-H year! All youth grade K-13, as well as all adult volunteers, must enroll/re-enroll each year to stay active and take advantage of all the opportunities Washington County and Wisconsin 4-H have to offer.
What is 4-H?
4-H is a hands-on learning program. Choose a project that’s interesting to you and explore it with peers and caring adults.
Who can join 4-H?
4-H is for anyone in kindergarten through one year post-high school (grade 13).
Is there a cost?
Some 4-H activities may have a fee, and some clubs may charge dues. Financial assistance may be available to help cover these costs.
Where is 4-H near me?
Fifteen community 4-H Clubs are located throughout Washington County. A community 4-H Club is your place to make friends, deepen your project learning and find leadership opportunities. You may meet people you already know or a whole new set of friends. See our list of Washington County 4-H Clubs
What can I do in 4-H?
The sky’s the limit! 4-H offers learning experiences in science, photography, agriculture, healthy living, civic engagement and much more. We have one-day events, clubs to join, year-long projects and everything in between. We also offer distance learning with 4-H programs to explore, discover and make a difference right from your own home. There are many ways to try 4-H.
Tips for families re/enrolling in 4-H Online
- The family phone number & email address in 4-H Online must belong to an adult
- Current, active 4-H’ers: please DO NOT create a new account; use current account log-in name and password to log-in to your existing 4-H Online account. If you can’t remember your password, you can request a password reset on the log-in screen.
- Ensure your family contact information is current/accurate – including email, phone, mailing address. If not, please update your 4-H Online account. Reminder: the family contact information must belong to an adult.
- Edit project list as needed. You should be able to update years in each project as needed.
- Ensure consents are e-signed.
- Use ‘Next’ button at the bottom of each page to continue through registration, and ‘Submit’ button when registration is complete/accurate.
- Please note that many announcements sent via 4-H Online are sent to the family email address. Be sure to regularly check your family email address for any announcements.
Tips for Adult Volunteers re-enrolling in 4-H Online
When re-enrolling in 4HOnline, all adult leaders should select a club in 4-H Online. If you do not wish to be a member of a community club, please select the club “Adult Volunteers – no designated club”.
- All returning Washington County 4-H volunteers must re-enroll each year between by November 1.
- To remain eligible, all required training and background checks must be completed by December 1.
- Eligible returning volunteer enrollments will be reviewed and approved by 4-H Program Educator Ron Jakubisin by December 15. Approved volunteers will receive a confirmation letter by mail by December 19, 2025.
- Important: Submitting a volunteer application or enrollment form does not mean you are approved to volunteer. Adults must receive official approval before serving as a 4-H volunteer. Adults who are not approved 4-H volunteers cannot supervise or be responsible for youth participants.
Become a 4-H Volunteer and Make a Difference
Volunteers are an important part of 4-H and help make our programs possible.
You do not need previous experience working with youth to become a 4-H volunteer. The most important qualifications are:
- Enjoy helping young people learn and grow
- Want to help youth build life skills and try new experiences
- Create a safe, positive, and welcoming environment for all youth
