The University of Wisconsin-Extension will be hosting a 2019 Wisconsin Dairy Well-Being Conference Series with a dairy emphasis in four locations throughout Wisconsin in March.
A team of excellent speakers will travel to each location to discuss current well-being concerns of Wisconsin’s dairy farmers.
All locations will feature Jennifer Van Os, the University of Wisconsin Dairy Welfare Specialist presenting Dairy Calf Management to Foster Socialization That Improves Growth and Performance.
Additional topics covered at each location include:
- Understanding and Practicing Pain Mitigation Techniques When Dehorning/disbudding Calves
- Research Validated Technologies That Enable Cattle Comfort
- Understanding Normal Cattle Behavior and Stockmanship
- A locally identified dairy well-being issue pertinent to that area
