Welcome to the Cake Decorating Project. We will be offering 4 workshops this year.
- December: Gingerbread House Workshop
- January: Introduction to Cake Decorating (for 1st year participants): Participants will learn how to frost and decorate a cake using buttercream frosting. Participants will also learn how to load a frosting bag, apply the tip with a coupler and use a star tip and round tip to decorate their cakes. Focus is on proper technique and form.
- March: Cupcake Wars! Our ever popular workshop open for everyone is cupcake wars where each participant comes to the workshop with 6 baked cupcakes and then spends 1 hour creating masterpieces on their cupcakes. When the buzzer sounds, all participants must stop decorating and the judging begins. Participants are judged on technique, use of materials, neatness and creativity. There are 3 top place winners: 1st, 2nd and 3rd, with each placing winners receiving cake decorating supplies and other goodies.
- April/May: Fondant Workshop. Participants will purchase a Styrofoam round and we will teach you how to work with Fondant, cover a cake and decorate unique creations. This workshop is also open to any skill level including advanced kids who want to work on their potential fair creations.
